MAPFHA can't be successful without our members pitching in to help. Volunteering is a great way to get to know your fellow members and make new friends! There are many volunteer opportunities year round. Some involve just your time, others are financial, raffle/auction donations, or services contributions. Most take up little of your time and are usually not an on-going commitment. Please contact the appropriate person listed above.
We currently have the following requests for your services:
- Trail Ride Sponsors: If you are planning to attend one of MAPFHA's scheduled rides, please consider being a sponsor. It's easy and an important service. A sponsor is the contact person for that ride and will let Sharon Gallagher know who is planning to attend. If riders would like to partake in a potluck meal, the sponsor can help coordinate this.
- Crow Hassan Trail Ride, May 2nd - 4th: We need items, horse related or not, for our raffle and/or silent auction. The proceeds of this event will be to cover the park's group camping fee.
- 2008 Fun Show, June 14th: Class sponsors are needed. Sponsorship is $10/class. Needed at the show are: Ring Steward, Gate Keeper, Presenter of ribbons/awards, Announcer, Registrations, and a few folks for food prep & serve.
- Help with Merchandising: Now that Nancy is the MAPFHA President, she has more on her plate than she can handle. Nancy has been managing merchandise orders and sales for many years and would like to turn this task over, or at least have one-time volunteers for any function where our merchandise is offered for sale. If you are interested in helping Nancy out, or need more information about what it involves, Nancy will be very pleased to hear from you!
We extend our gratitude to all who volunteered in 2007. We couldn't have done it without you! We hope to see some first-time volunteers in 2008. Let's make this year our best yet!
