Volunteer Opportunities
MAPFHA can't be successful without our members pitching in to help. Volunteering is a great way to get to know your fellow members and make new friends! There are many volunteer opportunities year round. Some involve just your time, others are financial, raffle/auction donations, or services contributions. Most take up little of your time and are usually not an on-going commitment. Please contact the appropriate person listed above.
We currently have the following requests for your services:
- Trail Ride Sponsors: If you are planning to attend one of MAPFHA's scheduled rides, please consider being a sponsor. It's easy and an important service. A sponsor is the contact person for that ride and will let Sharon Gallagher know who is planning to attend. If riders would like to partake in a potluck meal, the sponsor can help coordinate this.
- Crow Hassan Trail Ride, May 7th - 9th: We are looking for any of your suggestions on making this Trail Ride Event as fun as it can be for you. Games on horseback or not, friendly competition, and/or your help at the park to make it happen. Nancy will likely have merchandise available and you are needed to give her a hand.
- 2010 Fun Show, June 12th: Class sponsors are needed. Sponsorship is $10/class. Needed at the show are: Gate Keeper, Presenter of ribbons/awards, and a few folks for food prep & serve. MarKay is the contact; her info is above.
- Help with Merchandising: Nancy has been managing merchandise orders and sales for many years and would like to turn this task over, or at least have one-time volunteers for any function where our merchandise is offered for sale. If you are interested in helping Nancy out, or need more information about what it involves, Nancy will be very pleased to hear from you!
We extend our gratitude to all who volunteered in 2009. We couldn't have done it without you! We hope to see some first-time volunteers in 2010. Let's make this year our best yet!
